COMPANY HISTORY

Ainscough Vanguard was formed from Ainscough Crane Hire. Ainscough Crane Hire was established in 1976 by Mr. Gerald Ainscough. Since 1984 the company has been run by his three sons and had expanded to become the largest Crane Hire & Industrial Handling Company in the UK.

As the needs of our customer base changed, predominantly due to economic, legislative and commercial reasons, Ainscough Engineering evolved in 1982.

In 1999 the company business began a national expansion program and in 2001 due to the success and size of the business it became a limited company in its own right.

In March 2005 Ainscough Engineering acquired Pickford’s Vanguard becoming one of the largest providers of integrated and professional Industrial Engineering Services in the UK & Europe.

Pickford’s Vanguard: Pickford’s Industrial, established in 1965 was the largest industrial relocation company in the UK owned by the National Freight Corporation (NFC).
In 1998 NFC acquired Vanguard Engineering to compliment and expand its existing customer base.
